Wonder what people's experience is with citation managers? I've just started using Mendeley and it saved me so much time when adding references to a recent report.
From my quick search, there are 5 well known ones - Endnote, Zotero, Mendeley, RefWorks and Papers. Each have their pros and cons, but so far Mendeley and Zotero are winning on my list as:
both are free,
can extract citations from PubMed,
store pdfs,
extract citation data from pdfs,
good searching and
enable groups for collaboration and sharing references.
There are numerous blogs and articles comparing them and a useful table (though it is from Mendeley) here.
